From October 19, 2008 – February 15, 2009, the MV Quinsam will be removed from service on the Nanaimo Harbour – Gabriola Island (Descanso Bay) route to undergo the first phase of the vessel’s mid-life upgrade.
The MV Bowen Queen will be the replacement vessel and will commence service on the 6:25 p.m. departure from Gabriola Island.
Due to extreme low tides, the MV Bowen Queen is unable to operate at Descanso Bay at certain times. As a result, the following sailing delays and cancellations will occur:
